    SCARCE OLD ITEM!
    This is USGS Bulletin 1082-A,
Zirconium and Hafnium in the Southeastern Atlantic States
. Published in 1958, there can't be many of these around. This 28-page book discusses both bedrock and detrital sources of zircon as resources for zirconium and hafnium in the southeastern states. Deposits of
    zircon
    in sand mostly come from
    zircon
eroded out of metamorphic rocks in the Appalachian mountains and Peidmont. It worked its way down rivers to the cost. There it was concentrated by wave action, forming deposits. Specific mention and location information for the Zirconia mine in Henderson County, NC is given. Placer occurrences in Florida are discussed. A rare and desirable geologic publication on an unusual commodity.
