    Description

    VERY INTERESTING REPORT!!
This is USGS Professional Paper 614-E:
Distribution of Thorium, Uranium, and Potassium in Igneous Rocks of the Boulder Batholith Region, Montana, and Its Bearing on Radiogenic Heat Production and Heat Flow
. Published in 1969, this 29-page book is in excellent condition.
An interesting aspect of radioactive elements is that they generate heat by radioactive decay. This is an interesting report that characterizes different areas of the batholith according to their contents of these elements, and makes calculations of the expected heat flow based on the radioactive decay going on in the rocks. I’ve never read a report like it before, never even thought about the subject, but I still found it pretty interesting. Certainly worth a read.
As always, please read the condition notes.
