INTERESTING VINTAGE REPORT!! GOOD FIELD TOOL!!This is USGS Bulletin 1030-M,
Description of Indicator Plants and Methods of Botanical Prospecting for Uranium Deposits on the Colorado Plateau.
Published in 1957, this 118-page book discusses methods for using plants to locate hidden uranium deposits. Plants favor soils and strata of certain types, and can be used to improve prospecting for uranium deposits. The book is focused on the plants and formations of the Colorado Plateau. There is a section on the methods used, so you can understand how to apply the principals. This is followed by about a hundred pages of photos, drawings and descriptions of the plants, complete with details of their range and occurrence.
This would be a handy guide to anyone wanting to look for these hidden deposits. The drawings and photos are quite detailed and would be a great help in identifying the various plants. Cool book that looks at uranium prospecting a little differently, and provides another tool for the toolbox.
