    This is USGS Bulletin 1141-H,
Geology of the Pinal Ranch Quadrangle, Arizona
. Published in 1963, there can’t be many of these around anymore. This publication consists of the 18-page book and
    the original full-color map
, both in excellent condition. This area is home of some interesting copper and tungsten deposits such as:
    Gibson mine
    Cole and Goodwin deposit
    American mine
    Madera prospect
    Powers Gulch deposit
    Swede mine
    Clark prospect
    Bronx property
    Samsel deposit
These mines contain minerals such as:
    Galena
    Molybdenite
    Pyrite
    'Wolframite'
    Chalcopyrite
    Hematite var: Specularite
    Calcite
    Fluorite
    Chalcocite
    Sphalerite
    Tourmaline
    Quartz
Some of the veins are described as being vuggy, and some secondary copper minerals are present at some of the mines, and are widespread in another area. This is an area that is probably under-explored, as suggested by the absence of most of these mines in Mindat’s database. The chance to find some new mineral locations in this area would be greatly enhanced with this publication, and it is interesting reading as well, and not just for the history alone.
