Published in 1943, there can't be many of these around. This 81-page book details the big picture geology and ore deposits of this rugged and beautiful area.
This are contained large high grade deposits of lead and zinc as replacement bodies in dolostone. At the time of writing over three million dolors worth of metals had been produced, but the district continued producing for decades after, making the totals much higher. This book discusses all the geology of the area and details the geology and some of the history of the ore deposits as well. It comes with six maps in a pocket in the back, plus one fold out map bound in the text. The full color map is of the whole quadrangle shows some pretty complex geology, made clearer by some cross section diagrams. Other maps show underground workings and such.
This is a great, uncommon book. Most of these were gobbled up by mining companies, and they are still in demand in the mining sector. You'll hardly find a better example of this.
