Description
ALWAYS A SCARCE REPORT!! TOO POPULAR TO LAST LONG!!This is USGS Bulletin 1121-L,
Geology of the Littleton Quadrangle, Jefferson, Douglas, and Arapahoe Counties, Colorado
. Published in 1962, this is a scarce report on this geologically interesting area in the Colorado Front Range. This 53-page book discusses in detail the diverse and complex geology of this beautiful area. It comes complete with the original full color geologic map. Littleton is in the upper right corner of the map
.
The geology is complex with rocks ranging in age from Precambrian to Tertiary in age, and covering a wide array of types. Ancient rocks include granites and gneisses of the basement complex. These are overlain by younger sedimentary formations of Pennsylvanian to Paleocene age with Mesozoic units represented as well. The map is colorful and helps make the geology clear. The text describes all the formations plus some principal structures and other aspects. A short section on the economic geology is also included. It is a very complete work up of the geology. A great item for anyone in Littleton, or anyone interested in hiking this area or having a look around. Good stuff!
As always, please read the condition notes carefully.
Note that the map in this report does not have the stamps visible in the photos. I used photos from a previously sold item rather than take new pictures. There are NO stamps on the map.
