Geology, Geophysics, and Geochemistry of the Southeastern Part of the Lewis and Clark Range, Montana
. Published in 1968, this is a pretty scarce item. This 35-page book come complete with the original full color geologic map of the area, plus three additional maps, which all come in a pocket in the back of the book.
The goal of this study was to try a full suite of mineral exploration approaches on this mineralized area in hopes of finding indications of large hidden ore bodies. The combined use of these techniques was
valuable in indicating a potential source area relating to known lead and zinc mineralization.
It's a pretty cool study, and the maps and diagrams help pull the story together. The full color map has some cross sections as well, which really make the geology much more understandable. There is plenty to learn in this one, and it would make any visit to this beautiful area even better by providing depth of understanding and insight into the geology.
