    Description

    SCARCE ITEM!!
This is USGS Bulletin 1251-A, “
Mafic-Ultramafic Layered Intrusion at Iron Mountain, Fremont County, Colorado
.” Published in 1967, this is a pretty scarce item! This publication consists of a 28-page book and THE ORIGINAL GEOLOGIC MAP.
This publication documents this unusual intrusive complex in the mountains of Colorado. Layered intrusions are fairly uncommon and every one is quite different in some respects from others. This one’s occurrence along the margins of an alkalic intrusive complex, and a possible chemical affinity to it, make it unique among North American layered intrusions. This is a scarce volume in excellent condition and should be of great interest. Layered intrusions are the chief source of this precious metal. Additionally, a significant titaniferous magnetite deposit occurs within this intrusion, adding to the economic importance of it. Here is a great opportunity to own a scarce geologic publication!
