    Description

WON'T LAST LONG!!  CLASSIC MINERAL LOCALE!!
    This is USGS Bulletin 1046-H,
Geology of the Jomac Mine, White Canyon Area, San Juan County Utah
. Published in 1958, there can’t be many of these around. This publication consists of the 17-page book and all three of the original maps. The Jomac mine is a uranium mine that also produced significant copper. This mine has produced many scarce minerals including two for which the mine is the type locality. Many of them very colorful minerals. Look at this list, drawn from Mindat.org:
    Alunite
    Anhydrite
    Antlerite
    Asbolane
    Azurite
    Birnessite
    Blatonite (Type Locality)
    Boltwoodite
    Brochantite
    Carbonate-cyanotrichite
    Chalcanthite

    Chalcopyrite
    Coconinoite

    Quartz var:
    Petrified Wood
    Rutherfordine
    Schoepite
    Serpierite
    Sklodowskite
    Smithsonite
    Sphalerite
    Swamboite
    Uraninite
    Uranopilite
(List provided to show the variety of mienrals - not necessarily mentioned in the text.)
In fact, I saw a specimen of oswaldpeetersite for sale at the Denver Mineral show for 5! This mine is the only place in the world to find that mineral!
    All in all this is
a very interesting, detailed and scarce publication on a mineralogically important mine.
