    Description

SCARCE ITEM!!  BACK AFTER TWO YEARS!!  SO HARD TO FIND THIS ONE!!
    This is USGS Bulletin 1069,
Geology of the Thomas Range Fluorspar District, Juab County, Utah
. Published in 1959, there can’t be many of these around. It comes complete with the 97-page book and all eight of the original geologic maps! Four of the maps are full-color geologic maps!
The photos show all the maps.
This publication provides a complete geologic treatment of this area that is home to one of the great mineral collecting areas of the US – Topaz Mountain! The book also describes in detail numerous fluorite mines and prospects in the area, including:
    Bell Hill
    Blowout
    Blue Queen
    Fluorine Queen
    Fluorine Queen #4
    Harrisite
    Hilltop #1
Lost Sheep (Main Pipe and South Pipe)
    Lost Soul #1
    Lucky Louie
    Oversight
    And several other deposits!
Minerals found in the area, aside from fluorite, include:
    Quartz, var. chalcedony
    Opal
    Calcite
    Dolomite
Carnotite (a bright yellow uranium mineral!)
This is a great work on this area and would be a tremendous asset to the mineral collector, prospector, or historian. The whole publication is in great condition, with only slight fading of the cover and minor wrinkling as well. How it survived its more than forty years with so little wear is a mystery! The maps are clear and would give any collector lots of areas to choose from on a collecting trip. Combine your prospecting with a trip to Topaz Mountain and you couldn’t go wrong! All in all this is a scarce publication on an interesting and historic area that has some great minerals to offer!
As always, please read the condition notes.
