    Description

    COOL GEOLOGY!!  GREAT STORY!!
This is USGS Professional Paper 374-B,
Joints in Precambrian Rocks, Central City-Idaho Springs Area, Colorado
. Published in 1961, there can’t be many of these around! This 14-page
book provides an extensive look at the joints and fracturing of this nationally important mining district. Rocks of the area include many generations of metamorphic and igneous rocks. The joints are studied by orientation and and association with certain rock types and larger structures like folds. They measured over 9000 joints to do the study and it helped unravel some of the geology history. A pretty cool study with a good story.
This would be a valuable book for anyone interested in the history, minerals, or production of this major mining area.
