Description
This is USGS Bulletin 1081-D, "Stratigraphy and Structure of the House Rock Valley Area, Coconino County, Arizona
." This scarce report was published in 1960, and consists of the 42 page book and both of the original maps, one of which is a full-color geologic map of the area. There are two small prospects in the area, one for copper and one for uranium. The copper prospect, though small, contains a number of interesting minerals, such as:
Malachite
Cuprite
Tennantite
Chalcocite
Covellite
Pyrite
The minerals form in vugs!
The geologic map is very colorful, and would look nice framed and hung in a house or business in the area. The mapped area is just along the Arizona-Utah line, on the Arizona side.
All in all, this is a nice report on an interesting area, and would make a good guide to the area, perhaps even to some interesting minerals.
I will continue to add new items to my stor
