    Description

    SCARCE!! HOT ITEM!! ODDLY POPULAR!!
This is USGS Professional Paper 238,
Geography, Geology, and Mineral Resources of the Ammon and Paradise Valley Quadrangles, Idaho
. Published in 1952, this is a pretty scarce item. This 92-page book
details the geology of this interesting area and comes complete with both of the original full color plates. One is a large maps of the geology of the two full quadrangle areas, covering a large area. The other is a panel of many cross sections showing the complex folding and thrust faulting present in the area. The text is full of interesting information about the rocks, minerals, resources, and mining in the area, plus additional maps, diagrams and many photos of land features. The famous Phosphoria Formation is present and is the site of some important deposits.
This is a great report with a very cool, large map. The map is a combination of two 15-minute quads, so it covers a huge area. Caribou and Hancock Counties are at the bottom edge of the map, and Ammon, in Bonneville County is in the NW corner. It would really look great framed and hung in a business or home in the area.
