    Description

HUGE AREA STUDY BROUGHT TOGETHER THE BIG PICTURE!!
This is Bureau of Economic Geology Report of Investigations #88,
The Moore Hollow Group of Central Texas
    .
Published in 1977, this item comes with a 169-page book and a separate map pocket containing 9 B&W maps and diagrams.
The Moore Hollow Group of limestones occurs through a vast area of central Texas. One of the pocket maps shows twenty five areas where the rocks had been mapped. They are Cambrian to Ordovician rocks that had been treated separately prior to this study, but were put together and formally named the Moore Hollow Group by this study.
The report looks at the rocks in many area and draws correlations between the various sub-units of the group. The correlation diagrams are also in the map pocket. This is great big-picture geology that made sense of widely dispersed prior studies and brought the information together in one coherent story. The report is large and detailed and would provide anyone with a great understanding of this Group and its variations throughout the region. Good stuff!!
