    Description

RARE!!  THESE ARE THE ONLY ONES OF THESE I'VE EVER SEEN!
Here are a couple interesting old reports on prospecting in Wisconsin.
    The first is
Geochemical Prospecting by Spring Sampling in the Southwest Wisconsin Zinc Mining Area
. Published in 1969 by the Wisconsin Geological Survey, this 28-page book comes complete with a two-color folded map in a pocket in the back. It details the theory and practice of sampling springs to get insight into buried ore bodies of lead and zinc. Some examples are provided and shown on maps in the text and the one in the back. A pretty cool study that looked to have promise in revealing new areas to explore more thoroughly. First seven photos.
    The second is
    Uranium Prospecting in Wisconsin
. Published in 1956 by the Wisconsin Geological Survey, this short four-page booklet comes with a geologic map of Wisconsin in the back. It summarizes aspects related to land access, leases, methods, and prospective areas and formations. Last five photos.
An interesting pair of items that will give you a better perspective on Wisconsin minerals and mining history. Classic stuff!
