Here are two interesting reports on the geology of Delaware.
First up is Delaware Geological Survey Bulletin 12,
    Columbia (Pleistocene) Sediments of Delaware
. This 59-page book published in 1964 comes with nine folded plates in the back of the book showing different aspects of the geology. This book details the occurrence of the Columbia sands that blanket much of Delaware. It discusses their origin, transport direction, distribution and variations throughout the state. The maps in the back help make it all clear. It's actually a pretty cool story, and the formation relates to some current features, so it is easy to visualize what went on.
The second is a short article called
Upper Cretaceous (Campanian-Maastrichtian) Marine Strata in the Subsurface of Northern Delaware.
This is a reprint from a journal, but I don't where or when this was published. It has some nice illustrations. In the references the most recent article cited is from 1980. It discusses four Upper Cretaceous formations and their fauna and characteristics and relates them to the surrounding rocks. These are rocks that approach the K-T Boundary but in this area the K-T boundary was eroded off and Pleistocene sediments overlie them. Nonetheless they provide important information about the Cretaceous in that time. Nine pages.
