MINERALS OF CALIFORNIA by Joseph Murdoch & Robert W. Webb. SF: CDMG Bulletin 173 2nd ed, 1958. 9 1/4" X 6", pp 452 with 3 pages color plates; original cloth. One corner slightly bumped, previous owner's name inked on first blank endpaper, several of 523 mineral names listed have faint red pencil

else very good. Not ex-library. This is the first revision of the Minerals of California since 1948. As in previous editions the mineral species are listed
alphabetically
and described by
occurrences
in respective counties. This edition also includes a color plate of the state gem Benitoite, and neptunite from the same locality, crystalized gold from El Dorado County, gem tourmaline, and spessartine garnet from San Diego County. Also includes a large bibliography pp 355-452. Still a useful reference.
