EMIGRANT GULCH SEARCHING FOR GOLD IN PARK COUNTY MONTANA by Doris Whithorn. Charleston: Arcadia Pub, 2004. 9 1/4" X 6 1/2", pp 128 with almost 200 vintage b&w photos; color pictorial wrappers. Very good. Not ex-library. In 1864, an Oregon Trail wagon train of pioneers from Pennsylvania and Iowa found their way to Emigrant Gulch and Park County in search of gold. The first settlers staked 200' claims at the mouth of the Gulch in what had been called Curry District. Profusely illustrated.
