    Description

RARE REPORT!!  COMPLETE WITH ALL MAPS!!
    This is Pennsylvania Atlas 214C,
Surficial Geology of the East Stroudsburg 7.5 Minute Quadrangle, Monroe County, Pennsylvania
. Published in 1971, there can't be many of these around. This report consists of a 40-page book, and a full color map of the area.
Surficial deposits in this area are chiefly of glacial origin, and there types and uses are clearly described. There is also a short section on pre-glacial rocks including the Marcellus formation. The geologic map is colorful and really helps pull together the story. Photos and diagram within the text are also very helpful. The color map has Stroudsburg at the bottom, with the city center shown, and part of the street system goes off the map at the bottom. Lake Monroe is in the NE corner.
This is a great item that would be of interest to geologists, engineers, residents, or petroleum industry folks in the area. These state publications are harder to find than USGS bulletins.
